This 3-month-old puppy was found abandoned in a bag in Las Vegas. The Chihuahua mix was found alone in a McCarran International Airport bathroom, found beside him was a handwritten note from his owner. The woman who had abandoned him apparently was fleeing an abusive relationship she wrote in the note. She said she was experiencing domestic violence’s and had no choice but to leave him behind. This is what the note said:

"Hi! I'm Chewy! My owner was in an abusive relationship and couldn't afford me to get on the flight. She didn't want to leave me with all her heart, but she has NO other option. My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet. I love Chewy sooo much please love and take care of him.”

Darlene Blair, with Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, who took in Chewy said the story “really got to me.” “You could tell by the way the note was written that the woman was in dire stress and she didn’t want to give him up and she couldn’t take him with her,” she told NBC affiliate KSNV.

Connor and Millie’s Dog Rescue, first went public with Chewy’s story to try to let his owner know he is safe and doing well. Blair said, “The No. 1 reason we started this was to let her know that he was safe and to let her know that if she is safe and wants Chewy back, we will do whatever it takes,” she told The Post. Blair just hopes that one of the stories about Chewy will reach her and reassure her that he is out of harm's way.

Chewy will be spending the next month in a loving foster home until he's ready to go up for adoption. During his stay at his foster home, he will be monitored for signs of neurological damage from the kick to his head. Due to secret for security reasons, his location is being kept a secret.

"He's doing great," Blair said. "We just want her to know."

If reunification is not possible then they will place Chewy with an adoptive family. Thankfully Chewy has a potential family already in the pipeline. I mean, how could you resist that face?
