In October of 1985, Christine Tallady came to face the hard truth that she would not be able to provide for her newborn son all on her own. After much thinking, she made the difficult decision to put him up for adoption. As hard as it was to let him go, she knew his life would be better in the arms of another family.

Despite the heartache from her decision, she knew she had done the right thing. She chose to leave the adoption records open so that if he chose to search for her, he would have the ability to do so. Eighteen short years later, he chose to do just that. Steven became curious about the woman who gave birth to him and wanted to meet her.

He began the long, difficult journey of searching and continued to come up empty-handed. Two years later, he made a startling discovery: he had been misspelling her name all along! This explained why he had no leads as to where his mother could be.

After he corrected the spelling of her name, it wasn't long until he found exactly what he had been looking for all along. He was given the address to her residence and after seeing it, he realized that she didn't live far away from him at all. With this new information, he knew that in a matter of time he would finally have the opportunity to meet his birth mother.
