We all owe a huge debt of gratitude to those who serve in the U.S. Military. One of my best friends served in Iraq as a tank operator and it changed him. When they are serving, servicemen and women have only each other to rely on. They give up many of the luxuries we take for granted, just to make sure we have those luxuries. The soldier in this story gave up many important things to serve our country and he also had a very special friend he relied on for support.
Staff Sergeant Adam Wylie served our country well. He also gave up much of his life to make sure our quality of life was preserved. Wiley was deployed overseas just 25 days after his daughter was born. The timing could not have been worse, but Wiley had a great support system to lean on. Her name was Emra and she was Staff Sergeant Wiley's military dog.
Emra was able to help Wiley through some of the darkest and most traumatic times in his life. Emra was not only his emotional support, she was also Wiley's best friend. When Wiley's term of service was over, he returned home. Emra, however, remained overseas to continue serving. It was a heartbreaking separation, but Wiley and Emra were destined to meet again.
