As a parent, I can tell you first hand that there is nothing that puts a smile on my face quite like making my daughter laugh. If you ask any parent on the planet, chances are they will tell you that their child's happiness is of the utmost importance to them. As parents, we will do anything and everything to ensure that our children have the best life possible. This is most certainly the case with the parents of Daniella when they get their deaf baby girl Cochlear Implants.

Daniella has been deaf since birth and on this particular day, she is going to hear her parents’ voices for the very first time! The excitement is high for everyone involved. Daniella doesn't seem to know that she is deaf because her parents haven't treated her any differently. Daniella is a joyously happy baby, despite not being able to hear. Naturally, everyone is anxious to see how she will react when she can finally hear the world around her.

After surgery, the next step for Daniella is the Audiology appointment. Here, the External Sound Processors will be attached. When the day of Daniella’s appointment arrives, the excitement in the room is tangible. The doctor approaches and attaches the Sound Processors to Daniella's ears. There is a ringing as the components adjust and then everyone waits with bated-breath to see and hear Daniella's response. Daniella's mom begins to talk to the little girl and tell her how beautiful she is and, slowly, a look of comprehension comes over Daniella's face. For the first time in her life, she can hear her mother talking to her! Her look of confusion turns into an incredibly wide and contagious smile. For the rest of her life, Daniella will hear and know how much her parents and family love her. Watch the video, below, to see the beautiful moment for yourself.
