Willow, a purebred Neapolitan Mastiff was rescued at 4 weeks old. She was born with a congenital condition called Swimmer's Syndrome. The condition caused Willow to be unable to stand or walk. The "swimming" part of the name comes from the fact that her chest was flat and her legs were splayed out.

To the breeder, she was considered a defect and therefore, worth nothing to him, so he was about to throw her out like trash. But luckily, he first posted a message on social media and Jennifer came to the beautiful baby girls rescue.

Luckily, Jennifer Williams, President at 2nd Chances Rescue in Norco, California saw the message. 2nd Chances Rescue states on their website: It's our mission to rescue and re-home dogs. If they need training, to provide it through our volunteers or our professional trainer who specializes in positive reinforcement and "real life" situational training.

Immediately after seeing the message Jennifer got in her car and drove to this breeder’s home where she saw Willow who was floundering on the ground unable to keep up with her 5 siblings who were running around the back yard. These “defective” dogs are often euthanized or abandoned.

Willow was in such bad condition that she could not eat or drink. Jenn immediately took Willow to Animal Acuscope Therapist, Gina Gould. After two days of sessions with Gina, Willow was able to take her first steps! Months after, she was able to run. By using a combination of binding her chest, tying her legs in the correct position, acuscope therapy and swimming, Willow made a COMPLETE recovery!

Even though Willow was different than the others, that doesn't make her any less special or less loved. I'm so thankful that Willow now has a home where she's treated like the queen of the yard and she's living the fullest and happiest life possible!

Now, eight months later, you would have never known that Willow was born different than any other dog. She is rambunctious, playful and can function just like any other dog. You have to see Willow the happy, healthy and beautiful puppy! Watch the video below:
