Do You Prefer Coke Or Pepsi? Your Choice Is Likely Based On This One Thing
It's the age-old debate: Are you a Coca-Cola drinker or a Pepsi drinker? Some people can't seem to tell a great deal of difference between the two beverages but everyone has a choice they opt for more than the other.
Some people have a specific choice based upon what they drank most as a child and others simply have a flavor preference. Either way, these two beverages have been some of the biggest rivals on the market.
The two beverage companies constant war against each other for your attention whether by commercials, billboards, or advertisements. At the end of the day, though, no matter how hard they try, you're always going to go back to your old favorite.
In 2005, a man by the name of Malcolm Gladwell wrote a book called Blink. In this book, he wrote about what he had discovered in his research of both Pepsi and Coca Cola. He described the true differences between the flavors and his findings might surprise you.
So what are these flavor differences? While they have similar components, Pepsi has more of a citrus-based flavor. Coca-Cola, on the other hand, has a raisiny-vanilla flavoring.
Gladwell also went on to note that in blind taste-testing, more often than not Pepsi would come out as the preferred flavor simply because of the citrus notes even though Coca-Cola has a smoother finish. No matter what the statistics say, though, you'll always be faithful to your beverage preference.
So now that you know the biggest differences, have you noticed these particular flavor profiles before? Do you think any differently about your choice?
