Life has its ups and downs and sometimes all arounds. We can plan and hope life turns out a certain way but then sometimes we get thrown a curve ball in life. Nobody plans for cancer. Nobody hopes for cancer but if life tosses you the ball, you hope you can learn how to DANCE through it all.

Recently at a Garth Brooks concert at the Target Center in Minneapolis, a woman named Theresa Shaw was in attendance. She had already had a full day because Theresa is battling cancer and had chemotherapy that morning. But being a huge Garth fan, nothing was going to stop her from missing his concert.

During Garth Brooks performance of 'The Dance' the singer noticed her and it stopped him dead in his tracks. It was not because of amazing dance moves but her ability to dance in the difficulties of life. Theresa was holding a sign that said...

The song lyrics are, Looking back on the memory of the dance we shared beneath the stars above. For a moment all the world was right how could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye and now I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would end the way it all would go our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance.

As he sang, Garth sat on the edge of the stage, unstrapped his guitar and handed it to Theresa as the audience cheered. I couldn't help but get teary eyed as this special moment between a country singer and a cancer fighter.

"I was just hoping that he'd see the sign and I could get it autographed. I'm still on cloud nine," Theresa said. She said looking at the guitar Garth gave her gives her a boost to keep going and finish out what I need to finish after 13 rounds of chemotherapy.

Her message to others battling cancer is to stay positive. "You just have to keep a positive attitude to get through it. Positive attitude, humor, and my faith have helped me get through it," she said.

Garth's final message to Theresa, "Go kick cancers ass." We can all learn from Theresa that no matter what comes our way, to always enjoy the dance.
