Horses are majestic creatures, and when they move they seem to be dancing across the ground. One horse sport that really demonstrates the floating movements that these stunning creatures can pull off is Dressage. Dressage is a truly beautiful sport to watch as the horses prance their way across the arena in a myriad of graceful steps.
Blue Horse Matine is a dressage horse determined to show off her gracefulness, and in 2006 at the age of 9 years old she definitely succeeded. At the Aachen World Equestrian Games Dressage Finals she competed with her ride, Andreas Helgstrand, where her performance was stunning enough that is still talked about 9 years later. With expert precision she danced around the arena, and during the entire six minute performance she only had one minor mistake.
Her beautiful performance earned her and her ride a silver medal. The FOX commentator who was reporting for the incident, even stated “It’s not often that I’m at a loss for words, but it’s one of those moments now. I think it’s just absolutely sensational.” To this day, the footage of her marvelous performance is still one of the most viewed equestrian videos on Youtube.
