When your body begins to behave irregularly, it can send your mind into a tizzy. You automatically begin to imagine the worst case scenario and see yourself in the worst condition imaginable. You Google your symptoms in search of answers and debate on calling your doctor. One illness that has become increasingly more common is Fibromyalgia.

Fibromyalgia is a condition that is often misdiagnosed and is more commonly seen in women than in men. Unfortunately, there has been little evidence of the cause or cure. It is quite painful, causing severe discomfort in the joints and muscles. Below, are some of the most common signs of Fibromyalgia.

Parasthesia

Parasthesia is a burning or tingling sensation that occurs in the arms, legs, and feet. It’s a relatively painless symptom but can cause somewhat of an irritation or discomfort.

Troubled Skin

When you have Fibromyalgia, you could potentially struggle with a variety of skin issues. These issues include dryness, itching, burning, and rashes. To help combat troubled skin, limit your time in the sun, always use sunscreen, use gentle, non-irritating skin cleansers, and avoid bathing in incredibly hot water.

Hair Loss

One troubling sign of Fibromyalgia is hair loss. While it’s rather frightening to see more hair coming out than usual, there are methods of controlling or limiting the loss. Some of the treatments include deep tissue massage, exercise, heat, or medicine prescribed by your doctor.

Sensitivities

You may find yourself experiencing new sensitivities to light while driving at night, difficulty with loud noises, or an extreme intolerance to odors. This can make you feel confused and somewhat disoriented at times. Be sure to tell your doctor if you are experiencing this trouble.

Sweating

While sweat is considered normal, if you find yourself perspiring more profusely, this could be a sign. It’s quite difficult to explain the cause of this, but it can be rather uncomfortable. Be sure to stay hydrated, ensuring that you’re consuming plenty of electrolytes to prevent dehydration.

There are ways, however, to treat the overall pain of Fibromyalgia. These treatments include improving sleep habits, eating a healthy, balanced diet, and exercising regularly. When exercising, be sure to start off slowly, with low-impact routines, and work your way up to a level that feels most comfortable for you. Lastly, be sure to find a doctor who can help you best cope with your symptoms. Know that you’re not alone in this and that there is help available.
