This is an adorable story about a baby squirrel. It happened back in September right after the eclipse that everyone was was talking about. This baby squirrel came right up to Jack and lay on his foot after the solar eclipse happened August 21, 2017. There was a rumor it was going to mess with animals.
Jack was outside of his acting class the day after the solar eclipse when he met Petunia. Jack heard a lot of people had found orphaned squirrels after the eclipse. Petunia didn't look good, so he took her to the vet who said Petunia was close to death. Jack decided to nurse her back to health. In the process, he ended up cleaning out one of his closets, and he turned it into what he called “the closet jungle.”
Petunia started getting better and better every day. Jack said it took a lot of work, but he would have never guessed what it was preparing him for. Hurricane Irma hit Florida, and Jack's friend asked him if he'd take in another sick baby squirrel. Jack, of course, said yes right away, and he named the new addition “Daisy.”
Suddenly Jack was taking care of two baby squirrels who needed his attention 24/7. Luckily his vet helped figure out the healing process for these two baby girls, every step of the way. Jack was having so much fun with these baby squirrels, but as they got healthier, he knew he needed to return them to the wild. Finally, the day came when it was time to release them into a tree in his front yard. Watch the adorable video, below, and fall in love with these squirrels.
