Typically, weddings are traditional; from the wedding party to the ceremony, and even down to the dances, weddings are known for their traditional moments. Royal weddings are no exception. In fact, royal weddings are practically a massive tradition in themselves. Every single detail is practically set in stone from centuries ago.
While the wedding of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry of Wales is highly anticipated by much of the world, they’ve already hinted at a couple of obvious curveballs for their big day. Even while there are many family members and planners who are trying to steer them clear of curveballs, the couple is confident in their decisions to deviate from the standard wedding traditions.
Meghan has proven herself to be very much like her beloved mother-in-law, that late Princess Diana. She is outspoken, stunning inside and out, and a unique leader. During her very public engagement to her fiancé, Meghan has managed to remain quite true to herself in planning her hopes for her big wedding.
A couple traditions have already been vetoed since planning began in late November, only days after the engagement became public; Meghan might be walked down the aisle by her mother; Prince William may not be the best man; the couple has chosen against the ever-traditional fruitcake for their cake during the reception. But wait, there’s more!
The latest curveball is perhaps the most surprising of them all. It’s something that doesn’t even really take place in American weddings. And while Meghan seems to be pretty set on it, even Prince Harry is contemplating its addition to the wedding.
Meghan Markle is actually considering giving her own speech at her wedding! When I first learned of this, I was so intrigued and wanted to learn about why she was feeling so inclined to make a speech at her own wedding.
While many are trying to talk her out of a personal speech in order to keep with a more traditional wedding reception, Meghan is actually looking forward to her unique moment during her reception. She says that she wants to be able to share her gratitude directly with everyone who attends her and Prince Harry’s special day. What do you think? Is she out of line or is it perfectly acceptable? Let us know what you think! Watch the video below!
