Meryl Streep May Be A Busy Actress, But She Always Has Time For Charity

Meryl Streep is one of the greatest actors of her day. With over 100 awards to her name, including three Academy Awards and eight Golden Globes, this actress has more than earned her fame in today’s day and age. Meryl Streep isn’t just an an amazing actress though, she’s also a loving wife and a devoted mother to four wonderful children!

When Meryl isn’t acting or raising her children, you can find her donating her time and money to assist a wide variety of causes and charities! Overall, Meryl supports 17 causes and 16 different charities! Some of her favorite causes include Creative Arts, Disaster Relief, Education, Human Rights, Literacy, and Human Trafficking.

Although Meryl supports a wide range of charities, there is one she cherishes above all else. In the early 1980’s, Meryl and her husband created the Silver Mountain Foundation for the Arts. Through their foundation, they have donated over two million dollars to a wide range of organizations, including the New York Public Theater, the Butler Museum of American Art in Ohio, and the New York Shakespeare Festival.

Meryl doesn’t support the arts with just her time and money, however, and one of her favorite education charities happens to be Upward Bound. Upward Bound helps prepare students from low-income families for college in whatever way they need, and it’s been a cause she’s held dear to her heart. With Meryl’s help, many students have been able to get the assistance they deserve to get the best life possible!

Overall, it’s safe to say that Meryl Streep is one of the kindest and most amazing actresses around today, and we can definitely understand why she is so beloved. We can only hope that Meryl continues to be the shining star of grace and charity that she has always been, and that she continues to bring joy onto our television and movie screens for years to come. Although, if she does retire to focus on her charity work, well, who could blame her?
