Nobody Expected This To Happen, But When "Can't Touch This" Started To Play, This Father/Bride Duo Killed It

It's a wedding tradition that’s been around for generations, and is sure to continue for years to come. Traditionally, the father/daughter dance is slow and dignified, maybe a waltz or some other classic style. For this daddy/daughter duo, their dance starts out that way, but things take a turn shortly thereafter...and it’s a sharp turn, at that!

Just as everyone is getting ready for "Butterfly Kisses," the music comes to a sudden stop. Just as suddenly, the music switches to "Can't Touch This" by M.C. Hammer. As it starts to play Dad does a very good impression of the Hammer-Man, himself. This father/daughter duo puts on an epic performance.

Songs go from "Party Rock" to "It's Not Unusual," where the two bust out their signature move 'The Carlton.' Topping it all off is a little ‘N Sync, where they finally say "Bye Bye Bye."

The bride, Mikayla Ellison Phillips, and her dad Nathan Ellison, decide to skip wedding tradition and shake it up for the over 400 guests in attendance. Mikayla is Nathan's oldest child and his only girl, so he must have had to do some pretty heavy convincing in order to get her to take part in a stunt like this.

As you may have guessed, Mikayla is a professional dancer who met her now-husband Cody when they were dance partners at Brigham Young University’s International Folk Dance Ensemble. Watch this epic dance, below, and get inspired for your next dance floor inspiration.
