Poor Fifi Lived in Horrible Conditions and Her Health Was Quickly Failing. Once Rescuers Found Her, They Knew They HAD To Work Quickly

Over 30 years ago, a little bear cub named Fifi was brought to a roadside "zoo" in Pennsylvania. Her living conditions were far from pleasant and she was treated very poorly.

For her entire life, she was forced against her will to repeatedly do strange and confusing tricks to entertain the public.

After this "zoo" was forced to close down, Fifi sadly still had to endure a life of heartbreaking conditions in captivity. She had to live in a rusty cage that was far smaller than a bear her size needed.

She was very malnourished, dirty, anxious, and suffered from a severe case of arthritis that was never treated.

All hope seemed lost for poor, innocent Fifi. The only life she ever knew was one of pain and neglect. Would she ever know what it would be like to live as a normal bear?

In July 2015, her life took a drastic turn. PETA and The Wild Animal Sanctuary found her and immediately took her out of those terrible living conditions for good.

They transported her to a facility in Colorado where they nursed her back to health and treated her ailing body. She was able to quickly transform into the bear she was always meant to be.

After five short months, Fifi had transformed drastically! She had filled out and was looking as a big, healthy bear should.

For the first time in all of her life, she got to experience what it was like to truly live as she was created to.
