There is no greater feeling in the world than hearing the news, “You’re going to be a parent”. While the title of parent carries a lot of weight, it brings alongside more blessings and joy than one could ever imagine. Life is never the same when a baby arrives. After holding your child in your arms for the very first time, you quickly begin to realize what really matters in life.
When Nashville Christian music artist Nathan Johnson and wife Megan found out that they were expecting their first child, they couldn’t have been more thrilled. They seemed to have the perfect fairytale kind of love and the addition of a little one just seemed so very right. Friends and family alike immediately rejoiced at the wonderful news!
Immediately after they found out the gender, they began narrowing down names, picking out room decor, and plan for the future. They dreamt of what life would be like once their sweet baby girl, Eilee Kate, arrived.
Years earlier, Megan had undergone a heart transplant because of a vicious childhood virus. They kept a close eye on her heart, making sure that it was always properly functioning. The doctors gave her great reports and all seemed to be smooth sailing.
The days grew closer and before they knew it, the time had arrived for Eilee Kate to come into the world. Megan was induced early and at 2:40 am, her little blessing was born with no complications whatsoever. Nathan sent out photos to the family and updates of a successful and healthy birth. Megan and Eilee both were healthy, happy, and completely over the moon about one another.
Nathan took to Instagram, posting this precious sentiment: “Happy Birthday Eilee Kate Johnson. Megan was/is a professional and feels great. Her heart worked perfectly the whole time and Eilee introduced herself quickly and smooth. I am a rich man!!!!”
“The pregnancy was tough, like all pregnancies. But their doctor had cleared them, said it was safe, and the birth was smooth. They even sat together for hours afterward just talking and talking. They had no idea,” friend and fellow Christian musician, Josh Wilson, stated.
After a mere seven hours together as a family, things began to take an unexpected turn. Something was wrong with Megan, and things were going from bad to worse in a matter of minutes. Check out the following page to see what happens next.
