Irene Paisley knows that feeling all too well. She was in utter shock when she found her twelve-week-old little puppy, Macie, suddenly begin choking, vomiting, and bleeding profusely from her nose. Knowing that this was extremely abnormal behavior for her dog, she knew something serious was going on.
In a sheer panic, she scooped up her pup and drove as quickly as she could to the nearest veterinary clinic.
The staff immediately took Macie back for x-rays to try and discover the root of these horrific problems. As soon as they looked at the x-ray, their jaws DROPPED...

Somehow, Macie had managed to swallow an eight-inch-long kitchen knife!!! Is that not the most terrifying thought?!
Irene said she had absolutely NO clue how her little fur baby could have gotten the knife and was terribly heartbroken to see her sweet pooch in such a painful state.
"She could have pinched it out of the dishwasher, but no one saw what happened," she told the Huffington Post in an interview.

Within moments of this discovery, the vet rushed Macie to emergency surgery to remove the knife from her abdomen.
Thankfully, the surgery was a huge success and little Macie is expected to make a full recovery!
"I've never seen an x-ray like Macie's," the veterinarian stated. "She was extremely lucky to survive. Her saving grace was that she swallowed the handle-end first - the blade-end would undoubtedly have pierced her organs, likely causing fatal injuries."

While this will continue to stump us all on exactly how it happened, we are happy we can rest easy knowing that, despite it all, Macie will be okay.
