This couple has FINALLY tied the knot after months of waiting. The happy newlyweds have had a rough year and have overcome many obstacles together to be at the place they are today. Meg said, “It was the most exciting and special day.” She continued, “Especially after everything that’s happened. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house."

In December of 2016, Brett Greenhill and his fiancée, Meg Alexander, were excited about starting their life together and the possibilities that were ahead of them. The two had decided to have a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Naples, Florida, and were on the beach enjoying the day with friends when tragedy struck.

Brett was on the beach playing football with friends when he ran into the water to go for a swim. “Brett went into the water and all of a sudden my friend Kelsey says, ‘Why is Brett doing that? Why is he floating like that?’ ” Meg said of the incident. “I was like, ‘I don’t know, he’s a goofball, ’ and she went to check on him.”

After they got him onto the sand, Brett looked up at his fiancée and said, “I can’t feel anything. Meg, I love you so much, and I’m so sorry. I love you so much." She quickly replied, “I love you. Don’t be sorry. We’re going to figure out what’s wrong with you.”

Brett was rushed to the hospital where he found out he was paralyzed from the neck down. Fast forward nine months and the two are finally heading down the aisle. The past is behind them, and they look forward to a bright future together.

“Brett has always been the strongest guy I’ve ever known. This has been challenging physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but he has risen to the top and continues to every day. I’m really proud of him." Meg says that, at the end of the day, “life is amazing” and their future is bright. She continues, “It looks different than we thought it would, but who actually ever thinks life is going to turn out the way they think it is?” Brett chimes in, “We have twists and turns and ups and downs coming our way, but we’re excited. We’re in this together.” What an amazing couple!!
