When the weather is less than desirable, it causes us to want to stay indoors. During the winter months, the time spent inside can really add up. Before long, you and your family might get a little bit stir-crazy.

If this sounds familiar to you, I’ve come across a super fun craft that will have family members of all ages gathered round to join in. Paper quilling is a fun, hands-on craft where you roll paper and shape it to make different designs.

Once you’ve rolled your papers, you can glue them to a piece of paper for a piece of quirky abstract art. You could even use your rolled paper to create seasonal cards for your loved ones.

Quilling kits can be purchased at your local craft store or you can assemble your own items separately. You'll need strips of paper in your preferred colors and designs, a quilling tool (pictured above), a quilling stencil, and a little spare time.

Check out the video, below, to see just how to make these beautiful creations at home. I must warn you, though. Once you give it a try, you won’t want to stop anytime soon!
