The Picture Of A Happy Royal Marriage: Who Says William And Kate Don’t Show Their Affection In Public?

It’s a rare and sweet occasion when the public gets to witness Prince William and his wife Kate showing their true feelings for one another. The couple, obviously very enamored with each other, have always managed to convey this truth without resorting to public displays of affection while performing their Royal duties. Although there is no official protocol that dictates that Royals should not show affection in public, the precedent has been set by Queen Elizabeth II who rarely shows public affection for her husband of 70 years, Prince Philip. According to Royal insiders, it's simply a matter of decorum and professionalism.

Although it is evident that the Duke and Duchess are very much in love, it is unusual to actually see them show it in the expected ways: holding hands, hugging, or having physical contact of any kind. That is why these photos are such a treat. We get to see the world’s favorite couple showing the rest of us, in the way we can best comprehend, that their marriage is going strong and that the two remain the best of friends with true feelings of love for one another.

Yes, we've all seen the famous balcony photo taken at Buckingham Palace after the couple's 2011 wedding. Professionally staged, right? So it's okay. It doesn't really prove anything. Hold on a minute! If you think that, you must not have seen any of these other photos! When you take a look at these pictures, you will be reassured of what you've always really known in your heart - that there is a sincere, fairytale-like, true love between this world famous duo. Like this 2011 photos of the lovebirds during their Royal tour of Canada. Their exuberance stems from just having taken part in a dragon boat race at Dalvay-by-the-Sea on Prince Edward Island. True friends behave this way, right? It's lovely to see! (Photo: Getty Images)

Something evidently tickled the Duke's and Duchess' funny bones as this delightful pic demonstrates. The two were definitely enjoying their time when they took part in a children's storytime at the MacBride Museum of Yukon History during a 2016 visit to Canada. (Photo: Chris Jackson/Getty Images)

Some acts of affection are more subtle, as we see in this 2017 photo of the Duke and Duchess at the 2017 Royal Ascot. A simple hand on her husband's back as they stand among the crowd is all it takes to show that the two are a powerful team! (Photo: Getty Images)

Here, the Duke returns the loving gesture as he protectively places his hand on his wife's waist as they graciously greet crowd members in a Yorkshire village during the 2014 Tour de France. (Photo: Anwar Hussein/WireImage)

Another pic from their 2016 Royal visit to Canada. Here, Kate leans in close to whisper something to her husband as the couple enjoys a performance from the Bella Bella First Nations Community at Wawiska Community Hall. As any good husband does he listens intently to what his wife is saying. (Photo: Pool/Sam Hussein/WireImage)

Just a discreet pat on the leg to let William know that she is there, right beside him - the very same gesture any young couple in love would make! Here, the Royal couple is attending the welcoming ceremony at the start of their 2016 visit to Canada.  (Photo: Karwai Tang/WireImage)

After the wedding but before the honeymoon - this could be any young pair of newlyweds - very much in love and thoroughly enjoying their first days as husband and wife. The only distinguishing factor is that they happen to be taking their stroll on the grounds of Buckingham Palace! (Photo: John Stillwell - WPA Pool/Getty Images)

These two are obviously still friends even though the Prince just finished defeating Kate and Prince Harry in a relay race. The three royals took part in the "Team Heads Together" training day in February of last year. (Photo: Karwai Tang/WireImage)

A kiss for luck! The princess watches her prince set out to compete in a charity polo match in 2014. The couple was at the Cirencester Park Polo Club - while William and his team vied for the Jerudong Trophy - when she blew him the sweet kiss. (Photo: Max Mumby/Indigo/Getty Images)

Long before they were The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, they were simply William and Kate, a young couple in the early stages of their love story. The tender intimacy and genuine friendship were apparent even back then. Here the future King and Queen of England enjoyed a private moment after William finished a Field Game at Eton College. Think the honeymoon is over? Not for these two. Here we see the happy couple on Christmas Day, 2017, holding hands on their way to church services. The smiles on their faces say it all - that William and Kate are just as much in love today while awaiting the birth of their third child, as they were all those years ago as they were experiencing the first stirrings of their love.

This is truly a romance for the ages. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have found a way to keep the romance alive, which is no small feat in this day and age. We wish them many more years of happiness, friendship, and love as they continue their journey together as not only the future King and Queen of England but also as best friends!

Thank you for reading our story. We hope you enjoyed these photos as much as we did!!
