Some say that work ethic no longer exists. Seeing someone strive for greatness in the workplace simply because of their passion for their industry is a lost art. There are some individuals that would scoff at that. One individual, in particular, is Alla Illyinichna Levushkina.

To Alla, age is but a number. She’s 89-years-young and is a surgeon who, to this day, is still passionate about her job. “Being a doctor isn’t just a profession, but a lifestyle,” she said.

She currently works at the Ryazan City Hospital near Moscow, Russia, where she performs four operations per day. She has been working in this industry for 67 years and won’t be slowing down anytime soon. As far as we know, she holds the record for being one of the oldest working surgeons in the world.

When someone mentioned her retirement, she responded, “If I stopped working, who is going to perform the surgeries?” This, in itself, is proof that she has a deep love for others and wants nothing more than to help someone achieve their good health once more.

While she finds no one thing to credit for her long, thriving life, one could say that her determination has been an asset. “I didn’t find any secret to longevity. I just eat a lot, laugh a lot, and cry a lot.”

Check out the video, below, to learn more about Alla. This is proof that if you find what you’re truly passionate about, you won’t work a day in your life.
