There Is Something So Majestical About Horses. Watch This Herd Of Horses On The Move
I've grown up around horses my entire life. There is something so wonderful, so peaceful and so amazing about the sounds that come from these beautiful creatures... like the sounds of their hooves hitting the pavement, or their whinnies when they get excited. Horse are like therapy to me. So when found this dreamy places called Duchess Sanctuary in Oakland, Oregon I knew I needed to know more about it.
The Duchess Sanctuary is a horse sanctuary that has around two hundred formerly abused, abandoned, neglected or homeless horses. It is operated by The Fund for Animals in partnership with The Humane Society of the United States. The facility south of Eugene, Ore, was established in 2008.
Jennifer Kunz, lives on the property with the horses. She said, “My life consists of living in a horse haven. It’s amazing”
The sanctuary is located on 1120 acres, all 200 hundred horses there have a name and a personality, and Jennifer knows each and every one of them. Most of the horses are rescues from the PMU or they are saved from slaughter. Kunz says, “We want to make sure that they never ever have another bad day until the end of their life.”
If you would like to help at Duchess Sanctuary, Kunz says you can visit, you can volunteer, you can donate and you can help educate. Visit fundforanimals.org for more information.
