Summertime comes with a lot of great things: pool parties, beautiful sunsets, and of course, outrageously good food. I think that summer foods are the absolute best! The fact that a BBQ can happen every single night for 3 months in a row makes me a very happy girl.
BBQ foods are my love language. I love all kinds of BBQ flavors; tangy, salty, sweet, savory, even spicy! Mix BBQ Flavors with the championed kitchen tool- the ever-awesome crockpot- and you’ve got yourself a match made in Summer BBQ heaven! So when I found this recipe for Slow Cooker Bourbon Baked Beans from Spicy Southern Kitchen, you can imagine that I was one happy camper. The first time I found this recipe, I did a happy dance, sped over to the grocery store for the ingredients, and zipped back home to start on this goodness.
My family took at look at my crockpot and ingredients and grinned big ‘ole happy smiles- they knew what was comin’ their way and they were just as excited as me!
The biggest bonus with slow cookers is that they do all the work! All I had to do was measure out the ingredients and throw them in the crock pot. My family and I played backyard games outside while the slow cooker did the rest. This recipe was super simple too! It’s complete with some of my favorite things; thick- cut bacon, sweet brown sugar, and cayenne pepper are just some of the standout ingredients to this all-star recipe!
By the end of a serious game of frisbee and some awesome laughs, we were ready to eat. And let me tell you, these bourbon baked beans were the best! The juicy flavor, the kick from the sweetness of the honey, and the hint of cayenne had us all going back for seconds, thirds, and even fourths.
Even my son who loathes beans LOVED these! After I tried this recipe once, it became my BBQ go-to. And rightfully so; it’s so easy to make and so delicious!
If you are a BBQ connoisseur like me, then this recipe is about to become your new favorite! With the tangy, savory, and bold flavors, these Bourbon Baked Beans are a 4th of July BBQ must- have!
