Christmas is one of the most exciting times of the year, especially if you’re a little one. There is nothing more exciting that go to bed on Christmas Eve, anxiously awaiting the early morning and all of the glorious gifts. While millions of kids have a dream Christmas like this, there are two kids who had a very different one this year.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte, of Cambridge, experienced a more humbling Christmas this year. You might think, how in the world would a prince and princess experience anything with humility, but with The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge as their parents, they'll learning moderation very quickly.
Both The Duke and Duchess have been known for their charitableness and their kindness, something that The Duke’s - or better known as Prince William - late-mother practiced with excellence. Princess Diana was known for her generosity and serenity. Today, her traits still live strong and well in her two sons: Prince William and Prince Harry.
When it comes to their children, William and Kate are very fair and conservative. Sure, their children go to private schools and fly on private jets, but William and Kate make sure to never spoil their kids with toys and treats and everything they could ever want.
This holiday season was no exception; A sourced revealed that William and Kate fear having spoiled children more than almost anything. In fact, Kate shared that having spoiled kids would be "her worst nightmare."
This year, the toddler prince and princess collectively received thousands of gifts from fans across the world. And while William and Kate greatly appreciate the kindness from fans, they simply could not let their children bask in that many toys. So, they did what any reasonable parents would do: they donated the toys!
William and Kate made sure that all of the gifts that were originally intended for the young prince and princess would go to charities and toy banks. The children wouldn't miss the toys they never knew about and surely, less fortunate children would be blessed. They knew they had to start the practice of giving early on in their children's lives, otherwise, a nasty trait of entitlement might make itself known.
While the thousands of gifts were passed to other children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte received several gifts from their immediate family. We can’t help but wonder what Uncle Harry and sweet Great Grandmother Elizabeth got for the little ones, but we bet the gifts were pretty spectacular! We’re thinking a doll house for the princess and a police car for the prince!
We are so grateful for William and Kate’s generosity! It’s so wonderful to see them share with those less fortunate, and there is no doubt that thousands of children will be blessed by their decision to share. After all, that’s what the holidays are all about!
