You Need Only A Handful Of Ingredients To Make These Unbelievably Crispy Potato Chips In The Microwave
In my mind, there are few things as utterly satisfying as a good bag of potato chips. If I fail to use caution, I can consume the majority of a bag in no time at all. When this happens, I'm always left with a stomach ache and a load of regret. If I'm wise, though, I'll carefully portion out a specific amount to eat and will allow myself no more. That crunchy, salty craving always tends to hit when least expected.
For me, I typically find myself rummaging through the pantry in the late hours of the night. I just want a little something to snack on before I go to bed. When I see there are no chips or popcorn in sight, I'm pretty frustrated. I recently came across a recipe for how to quickly and easily make chips when I have none on hand! Not only do these chips satisfy my cravings and taste incredibly delicious, they also have very minimal ingredients and take little-to-no time in preparation. Check out the recipe below to see how to make this tried-and-true snack at home!
INGREDIENTS:
2 medium sized potatoes
2-3 tbsp. olive oil
2 tsp. salt
ice water
BBQ Seasoning:
1 1/2 tsp. smoked paprika
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. chili powder
Ranch Seasoning:
1 tbsp. dried parsley, crushed
1 tsp. dried dill weed
1 tsp. onion powder
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground pepper
INSTRUCTIONS:
Rinse potatoes and peel, if desired. Thinly slice your potatoes using a knife or a mandolin. The thinner the slices, the better. They should be between 1/8 and 1/16 in. thick. Immediately place potato slices in ice water. This step helps remove some of the starch from the potato, making them crisper when cooking. Dry the slices well with a paper towel.
Line a plate with a piece of parchment paper. Lay the slices evenly on the paper so that none are touching or overlapping. Brush with a little bit of olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Microwave on high for 1.30 minutes to 2.30 minutes on the first side and roughly 1-2 minutes on the other until the slices have a beautiful golden-brown color. Sprinkle the finished potatoes with salt and the seasoning of your choice. Enjoy!
