You Only Need A Handful Of Ingredients To Make This Southern Summertime Slow Cooker Dessert
There are certain things that give us the ultimate comfort feeling. Food is something that can do just that. It has a way of momentarily transporting you to a place in your mind far away from the hustle and bustle of our day to day lives.
One bite of a comfort food and you suddenly have a joy-filled image of you as a child enjoying the meal with a beloved family member. It's quite magical how food has that much power. In my opinion, a good 'ole peach cobbler does just that. I grew up in the South where you were constantly surrounded by comfort food everywhere you turn.
I'm not going to lie, I surely didn't complain one bit about that luxury! Now I live on the opposite side of the country, far away from all the foods I've always known and loved. You can't just run to a nearby hometown diner and order a perfectly fried piece of chicken just anytime you want.
It was a bit of a shock food-wise making such a drastic change. I've found myself cooking a lot more just so that I can continue to surround myself and my family with the childhood foods I've always known and loved.
Something I love to make for my friends and family here is peach cobbler. Each bite fills your belly and your soul with southern comfort! Unfortunately, my schedule doesn't always allow for me to spend a great deal of time in the kitchen so I've had to find other ways around making my favorite dessert.
Thanks to my trusty crock pot, I can have a cobbler cooking while I'm away at work. By the time I come home in the evening, my house is flooded with an aroma of delicious, fruity goodness. What's not to love?
Enough of the talking about this warm, fruity dish. It's time to start cooking! Check out my favorite go-to peach cobbler crock pot recipe on the following page.
