Jesse Wilson of Phoenix, Arizona, was reported missing on July 18, 2016. He was only 10 years old when his mother called the police frantically crying about her missing son.
After an investigation, his mother was ruled out as a suspect and it was believed that little Jesse had left his home through his bedroom window. Whether he was taken or left on his own free will remains unknown.
Jesse’s disappearance shook the community with immense fear; he was beloved by his family, friends, teachers, and community. Nearly everyone in the community took part in the search parties for him.
No matter how often they searched, how many resources they used, and how times they retraced their steps, little Jesse’s disappearance remained an absolute mystery. But on March 8th, 2018, pieces started coming together…
After rare flooding dried up in Buckeye, Arizona, the worst was discovered. People Crime interviewed Buckeye police detective Tamela Skaggs where he shared that on March 8th, “A Buckeye municipal employee discovered what appeared to be partial human skeletal remains in an area near State Route Highway 85 and Broadway Road — six miles from Jesse’s house.” The discovery of Jesse’s body was absolutely devastating.
Buckeye police detective Tamela Skaggs announced the tragic news at a conference moments after his remains were found. Little Jesse was discovered in brush nearly two years after he disappeared. His body was in pieces and has scattered throughout a small area.
His disappearance and death are now being treated as a homicide. His mother and family are heartbroken and the Phoenix Police Department is sincerely disturbed by what they’ve discovered. However, Skaggs does believe that this will help them find the person responsible for the heinous crime.
Please join us in prayer for Jesse’s family as they go through this devastating season.
