9-Year-old Mariah Martinez disappeared from her Lubbock, Texas, home in October 2016 when she was kidnapped by her mother. Amanda Martinez, Mariah’s mother, took the girl and her two siblings when she was going to lose custody and fled. Police never stopped looking for Mariah, and they finally caught their big break in the case this week.

Mariah’s case was featured on the Live PD television show on March 23, where a viewer recognized her. On monday, March 26, Mariah was safely recovered in New Mexico! Lubbock police are relieved that Mariah has been found safe and sound, and are so grateful to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for never giving up on her.

The Lubbock Police Department released a statement on Tuesday afternoon, thanking the NCMEC for their help. Surely, without their help, Mariah’s case would never have made it on to Live PD and this little girl might not have been able to return home to a family who loves her and misses her dearly.
