A Couple See A Young Skunk With His Head Stuck In A Small Cup. Then The Man Attempts To Help While Avoiding A Stinky Situation

October 18, 2017

Life has a fantastic way of providing us with opportunities to become heroes. Not all heroes wear capes, though, and not all heroic acts make the nightly news. For the couple in this story, their heroism may go unnoticed by some but, for one tiny animal, it makes all the difference in the world.

As the couple drives along, they notice something small moving on the side of the road. As they get closer, they realize that the creature in question is a skunk. The couple are animal-enthusiasts, so the woman pulls out her phone to get a picture of the cute creature. They soon realize, however, that the skunk is need of serious help.

The little skunk has its head stuck tight in a plastic cup. The man quickly gets out of the car to see if he can help the critter out of its predicament, only to be informed by the woman that the skunk is a juvenile, which means the animal is ten times more likely to spray the man if he gets too close. The man knows that he can't just leave the skunk to fend for itself, so he throws caution to the wind and moves forward.

The man gets close enough to the skunk to get his hand on the cup and quickly pulls it off. There is one problem, however. The cup he pulls off only reveals that there is another cup still trapping the skunks head. The phrase, "Are you kidding me??" comes to mind in this situation. The skunk scurries in the opposite direction, still scared. The critter hasn't sprayed the man yet, so the hero decides to give it one more go.

The man cuts off the skunk's escape route and grabs ahold of the second cup. The skunk doesn't struggle; he seems to know that the man is trying to help. With a tug and a little shimmy, the skunk's head comes free of its plastic confinement. The little animal doesn't stick around long, but the sight of his freedom is "thank you" enough for the animal-loving couple. I don't think the people in the car, or the tiny skunk will forget this day anytime soon! Watch the video, below, to see the rescue for yourself.
