When you hear someone mention lasagna, your first thought always goes to the savory, meaty, layered Italian comfort food. While it is incredibly delicious and oh-so-satisfying, it isn't the only lasagna on the block. Oh, yes, you read that right. Thanks to some super creative culinary geniuses, they've taken the brilliant way that a lasagna is assembled and used that format for a sweet version. While it is a little difficult to wrap your mind around, hear me out - this is GOOD.

This particular dessert version is packed with flavor and texture. It's the ultimate treat when it comes to summer desserts because it's cool and refreshing for even the hottest days! The pretzels, creamy center, and tart berry topping create a dreamy salty-sweet masterpiece that will please the palates of young and old. INGREDIENTS:

For The Crust:
2 c. crushed pretzels
3/4 c. butter, melted
3 tbsp. sugar

For The Filling:
2 c. whipped topping
1 package (8 oz.) cream cheese, softened
1 c. sugar

For The Topping:
2 packages (3 oz. each) strawberry gelatin
2 c. boiling water
2 packages (16 oz. each) frozen sliced strawberries, thawed
additional whipped topping, optional

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. In a bowl, combine pretzels, butter, and sugar. Press into a 9x13-inch baking dish. Bake for 10 minutes. Let cool completely on a wire rack. For the filling, beat whipped topping, cream cheese, and sugar together in a small bowl. Spread over the cooled pretzel crust. Refrigerate until chilled.

For the topping, dissolve gelatin in boiling water. Stir in strawberries with syrup; chill until partially set. Spoon over whipped topping layer and spread evenly. Chill for 4-6 hours or until firm. Cut into squares; serve with whipped topping if desired. Enjoy!
