Trapped, neglected and abused, Poly was locked inside an enclosed shelter, three hundred pounds under weight with hooves that wrapped around themselves. To make matters worse, Poly’s hooves hadn’t been trimmed in 10 long excruciating years, causing this sweet Shetland pony the inability to walk!
For many of us, it’s hard to imagine the agonizing pain, itching, inflamed joints, muscle spasms, and daily pain that he endured every single minute of his life. How would he lie down and if he did would he have the ability to get back up? The life that Poly lived would have no relief from pain and if his circumstances never changed then there would never be a solution to the torment he was in. Poly needed a miracle!
Thankfully, a miracle entered Poly’s life and his owner finally surrendered him. Rescuers immediately came in and transported Poly to a new loving facility. With determination, servant’s heart and patience, the volunteers carefully trimmed Poly’s hooves, groomed, fed, and allowed him to experience a brand new beautiful life of prancing in the sunshine.
