Vegan blogger Sonia Sae lives in Spain with her pet fox, Jumanji. Sonia strongly believes in the vegan diet, so strongly in fact, that she believes that everyone and everything should be on a “cruelty-free” diet. When she “rescued” her fennec fox, Jumanji, from a breeder, she immediately put him on a vegan diet. The problem is, Fennec Foxes are carnivores and they need specific diets rich in taurine, much like cats, that you just can’t get from a vegan diet.

On her Instagram account, which has since been set to private, Sonia Sae commonly posts photos and videos of Jumanji, and as time has gone on more and more people have become concerned about his welfare. He has become extremely skinny, and his fur has become to fall out. He is patchy and weak looking, his nose is sore and he looks like the epitome of a sick fox. Sonia has fought back, saying that it is the result of allergies but many fox specialists disagree and accuse her of purposely neglecting him by pushing her views on him.

People all around the world have contacted fox rescues and animal cruelty investigators, only to be told there is nothing they can do. Unless someone can step in to save Jumanji, it’s clear that the future is not looking bright for this little fox at all. Hopefully, Sonia will come to her senses soon and stop forcing Jumanji to live the life she decided he must to make her happy and feel better about herself.
