Adorable Gorilla Loves To Be Tickled At Orphanage

February 07, 2018

Gorillas are some of the most wonderful creatures on the planet. They are not so unlike ourselves that it’s hard not to feel compassion toward them and see the similarities.

Unfortunately, they are often victims of poachers who hunt them as trophies or to sell their babies as pets. Parts of their bodies are often sold as medicine or magical charms by people who still believe in debunked ancient medicine.

The Gorilla Rehabilitation and Conservation Education Center (GRACE) is the only sanctuary for Grauer’s Gorillas in the entire world. There, they take care of these critically endangered apes and help raise orphans who have lost their mothers to poachers.

One of the gorilla caregivers, Devotte, has formed a strong bond with one of the little orphans, Lulingu. Lulingu was saved by Grace after his mother was killed by poachers who wanted her for medicine, leaving him alone to die.

Devotte soon realized just how much Lulingu loved to be tickled, just like a toddler! When she would tickle his little armpits, he would grin and draw his arms in, much like a young child would.

Watching little Lulingu being tickled by his adoring caregiver is one of the most adorable and wonderful things on this earth. It’s a reminder to all of us that we are all related here, and that we need to take care of each other the best we can.
