In every litter of puppies, there is always one runt. The runt is smaller and can sometimes have a difficult time nursing from their momma when their bigger siblings push them out of the way. When that happens, the breeder or a veterinarian will step in to hand feed the puppy and make sure it gets all of the food and nutrients it needs!
One adorable little 18-day-old Australian Shepherd named Petal was the runt of her litter and was having a horrible time trying to compete with her larger litter mates so her breeder was forced to step in and help her. She filled a needleless syringe with formula and placed the puppy on a small soft and fuzzy stuffed animal to help stimulate her.
Watching Petal nurse from the little syringe is truly adorable. Her little paws are trying to knead the stuffed animal as she nurses. Petal is definitely one of the cutest little pups we’ve seen in quite a long time, and watching her nurse is spectacular.
