After Winning The World Series, Carlos Correa Proposes To His Girlfriend On live T.V.

November 03, 2017

Carlos Correa is the shortstop for the Houston Astros who just won the 2017 World Series. The team and fans were on cloud nine when, in the middle of an interview, Correa stopped to ask a question. As he was being interviewed he said to the reporter, " Right now I'm about to take another big step in my life!"

Right then, he reaches into his back pocket and pulls out the ring and says, "Daniella Rodriguez, will you make me the happiest man in the world?" he said. "Will you marry me?" Rogriguez (21) and Correa (23) have been dating for around a year. They met after Rodriguez threw out the first pitch at an Astros game last August.

"I was like OK, so we have a championship-caliber team, so let me wait it out to see if we can be champions and do it at the big stage," Correa said. "So, we were able to win the game, which was the first part of my day to accomplish, and then I was able to do it."
The ring was safely hiding in Correa’s locker during the game. He had originally planned on popping the question during game six, but the Astros lost, so he adjusted the plan, which turned out better than the original.

"In the ninth inning, I go into the clubhouse and I talk to the clubbie and I'm like, 'I don't want to jinx it, but if we get these three outs, I need you to bring me this,'" Correa said.
“He kept calling me to be next to him during an interview, which I really didn’t understand why cause it’s just a regular interview, so he’s like, ‘Just don’t leave, just don’t leave. Stay right there.’ So I was like, ‘OK,'” said the former Miss Texas of 2016.

“I could barely hear what he was saying, and then I hear him say, ‘I’m going to take another big step’ or something like that, and then he says my name and looks at me and I’m like, ‘Does he want me to talk in the interview?’ Then he gets down on one knee and everything else is a blur.”
