Tamera Mowry and her husband are mourning the unexpected loss of their 18-year-old niece after she was tragically killed in the Borderline shooting in Thousand Oaks, California.
On November 7th, 2018, a gunman walked into a popular college bar and grill in Thousand Oaks, CA and opened fire. The venue was filled with several hundred students and patrons as the bar was hosting a “College Country Night.”
After several news outlets broke the devastating news, several victims and family member took to social media to spread the word and confirm their safety to their family members. Likewise, friends and family members who had loved in the area relied on social media to account for the status of their loved ones.
In one post, a college girl shared a picture of her college roommate named Alaina Housely. The roommate, Ashley, shared a picture of Alaina Housely on Twitter saying, “My suite-mate is still missing, she is wearing denim shorts, a blue flannel and sneakers, pls let me know if you know anything.”
Legendary actress and talk show host, Tamera Mowry, responded to the tweet in horror saying, “Ashely this is her aunt Tamera Mowry Housley. Can you please DM me your information?”
It was learned that Tamera’s niece, Alaina, had been missing since the shooting and several worried that she may have been a victim. After several prayers and hours later, Tamera and her husband, Adam Housely, confirmed that their sweet niece was, in fact, killed the shooting.
Adam confirmed the devastating loss of his niece in the social media post with a photo of his teenage niece with the caption, “I really don’t know what to say other than I love this girl with all my heart and I’d give my life right now for a miracle.”
This is a truly devastating time for the families of victims and those who were present for the shooting. What happened was evil and senseless. Please continue to pray for the families of the victims and those who are injured. Their lives are in God’s hands, and their families desperately need our prayers.
