Former child star Amanda Bynes is triumphantly finding her way back into the spotlight after several years under the radar. After a devastating mental breakdown, compounded by DUI arrests, and multiple hit-and-run charges, she is taking her rightful place in the sun after struggling for nearly eight years.
Bynes has tweeted three times in September, after being absent from social media for nearly seven months. Fans are delighted to see her again and thrilled that she is looking so much better than the last time they saw her.
Her latest tweet comes just one week after her first appearance on social media in months. On September 7th, she tweeted about the death of pal Mac Miller, and seemed full of sympathy and regret that she didn’t get a chance to know him better:
“I only got to know you a little bit, but you were such a sweet guy. Rest in Peace Mac.”
And only there days before that, she shared a pic of herself with famed ‘Hairspray’ producer Neil Meron:
“Me and the incomparable producer of Hairspray, as well as many other amazing things, @neilmeron. ❤”
Her most recent tweet on September 10th is a simple selfie in which the 32-year-old actress looks clear-eyed and content, with no commentary attached. It's true that 'a picture paints a thousand words.' And this photo speaks volumes about how she is doing.
The actress is looking healthy and happy in the selfies she posted and we couldn’t be happier for her. We hope this means that she has worked through the ‘demons’ that plagued her just a few short years ago (2013) when she went through a much-publicized breakdown.
At that time, Bynes stepped out of the public eye so she could work through some of her issues.
In June of 2017, the former child star sat down in an interview to announce her return to acting. She claims to be three-years-sober and feeling much better than she did in 2013 when all the trouble began.
She is hoping to return to the industry slowly, and see how it goes. She's looking for guest roles on some of he favorite shows.
"Bynes started her television career on Nickelodeon's 'All That,' then moved on to her breakout role on 'The Amanda Show' and later starred in 'What I Like About You,' before stepping into movie roles." It was in 2010 that her troubles began.
According to ABC News, “Tamar Arminak, Bynes' attorney said she has complied with all conditions of her probation from the series of driving violations which included a DUI, two alleged hit-and-run incidents, tickets, and drivers license suspension.
"Bynes is thankful that no one was hurt and she is very proud of being sober for almost three years now.”
