When a couple divorces, the aftermath can go one of two ways. The first and, unquestionably, the more desirable of the two is this: The split is a mutual decision and the two agree to go their separate ways with little animosity or rancor over the division of assets and child custody agreements.
Unfortunately, the above is a rarity and most divorces, no matter how ‘amicable’ the couple declares it in the beginning, turns nasty at one point or another - especially if one of the exes get a new love.
And it can be made even worse if one person did not want the split in the first place and is doing all he/she can to make the departing spouse’s life miserable out of hurt and revenge.
Couples in the spotlight definitely have their work cut out for them to keep a level head and not buy into the rumors and innuendoes that gossip publications LOVE to spread.
Now, I’m not saying that Hollywood stars have a worse time with this, but their celebrity can make it seem that way. When a couple as famous as Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, for example, go their separate ways.
This is especially true when they're getting together in the first place was such a scandal, it is sure to capture the public’s attention. And when there are six kids involved, there is certainly plenty of fodder for the rumor mills when reporting the ins-and-outs of the process.
Now, two years into the slow and painful dissolution of the famous Jolie-Pitt marriage, we are getting word of a seemingly vindictive move at the hands of one of the ex-partners.
“Brad left a bunch of items with Angie and the kids, like antiques and family heirlooms as well as sentimental trinkets and old toys from his childhood - and she tosses anything of Brad she finds straight into the trash, without hesitation!”
Despite reports to the contrary, I have a strong suspicion that Brad would have already taken anything of value, monetary for sentimental, when he left the home for good. I doubt her ‘divorce purge’ will cause him much grief or lost sleep.
The über-famous couple parted in 2016 after less than two years of marriage, although the pair had been together for much longer. The duo got together while Pitt was still married to America’s sweetheart Jennifer Aniston, so public opinion about their union was negative, to say the least.
The couple share six children, adopted kids Maddox, Pax, and Zahara who as well as three natural children: Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox. In recent months, there have been reports of visitation difficulties between the two Hollywood stars.
In all of this conflict, we can’t help but turn our thought to those kids. We pray that their parents can put their own interests aside and think of the long-term consequences for them. Being the kids of Hollywood stars, they already have a tough road ahead of them. Coming from divorce just magnifies the challenges.
Will you join us in praying for everyone involved in this sad situation - especially the kids?
