Animal Rescuer’s Tragic Murder Puzzles Local Community

March 09, 2018

54-year-old Ffiona Scourfield was a beloved and respected animal rescuer in the German Shepherd community. She worked up close with the German Shepherd Rescue UK, where she ran the fundraising and helped find the dogs their perfect homes. Unfortunately, Ffiona’s life of altruism came to a tragic end on March 6, when she was brutally murdered.

Local police were called to Broadmoor Farm, a remote Carmarthenshire farmhouse, at about 5:50 that night, to find her already deceased. They quickly arrested a 16-year-old boy who they believe to be responsible for the death. Her death was horrifying and tragic, and court records show that she was murdered with the use of an ax and a samurai sword.

The boy, whose name is not being released, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Friday, March 9, and has been placed in a secure youth unite while he awaits trial. The motive for the murder has not yet been released, but there was surely no reason that Ffiona should have suffered as horrible of a fate as she did. Please pray for all of Ffiona’s friends and family in this trying time, as they come to terms with their loss.
