Can you believe it- Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are officially pregnant!
Now, we can’t say we didn’t see it coming- because we absolutely did- but regardless of whether or no we were expecting a sudden pregnancy, we are still totally obsessing over the news. After watching Prince Harry grow up before our very eyes, his romance with Meghan has been one of our favorite topics of conversation, and with the new addition of a baby, the excitement is only growing.
The royal couple announced their pregnancy just five months after their May 19th wedding. On October 15th, Kensington Palace confirmed the couple’s baby news by sharing, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019. Their Royal Highnesses have appreciated all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public."
In another post, Kensington Palace confirmed that Meghan had completed her 12-week ultrasound. Without knowing details of the baby timeline, it’s believed that Meghan will be welcoming her little one in April of 2019, less than one year into their marriage. As a royal tradition, Meghan and Harry likely won’t announce the due date or the baby’s gender until the baby’s arrival. But just because they aren’t revealing any major details, doesn’t mean they’re not thinking about day in and day out of this pregnancy.
Immediately following their pregnancy announcement, the couple embarked on the major tour together: a 16-day tour with 76 engagements in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, and Tonga. Having announced the epic news just hours before touching down in Australia was quite a bold move, especially since the upcoming baby would surely be hot-topic for the two newlyweds.
During one of their royal engagements in Melbourne, Australia, Harry and Meghan traveled on a local tram where they had a chance to site with some students. One of the students, a 12-year-old named Charlie Wolf, asked Meghan the question that everyone was dying to know the answer to what will the baby’s name be?
Meghan smiled and admitted, “We’ve been given a long list of names from everyone. We’re going to sit down and have a look at them."
Immediately following Meghan’s confession, bets began taking place amongst the royal pair’s most devoted fans. Some of the top contenders are Alice, Elizabeth, Diana, and Serena for a baby girl, and Arthur, Spencer, and Henry for a baby boy. What are some of your guesses?!
