As the New Year rolls around, I can’t help but miss the summertime more and more. I love being in the pool or out at the lake all day long. If it were up to me, I would spend each and every day in the water. In 95 degree heat, in the middle of July, nothing sounds better than lounging on the floatie outside with some kiddos laughing in the background.
Imagine you’re lounging out on the lake, catching some rays, and relaxing like a champ. You can hear the kids in the background, and every once in awhile you get splashed by a cannonball. Life is good, but then, you hear nothing but quiet. You turn and look around and then notice that everyone is watching something, or better yet, watching three things!
Lake-goers in Pope Beach at Lake Tahoe got a rare experience of cooling off with three bears. Families were out enjoying the hot weather when all of a sudden a mama bear and her two cubs joined in the water for some daytime, lakeside, hangout time. How crazy cool does that sound?!
The park ranger said that he’s seen the bears near the shore before, but only ever during the early morning or super late hours of the day. He said that the recent drought must have caused them to look for ways to cool off. And hey, I get that! I know I’m dyin’ for a swim all the time and they’re the ones covered in fur from head to toe - literally!
The mama bear and her cub stayed for only about 30 minutes. Beachgoers watched as the mama helped her cubs cool off and enjoy the water. They looked like the happiest bears in the world!
Check out the video, below, to see these cuties spend an adorable day in the water. They are so stinkin’ cute!
