Devout NBC news watchers were hit with a rather startling blow today when one of the legendary broadcasters made his announcement that he would be officially retiring.
Sports broadcaster Bob Costas spent the last 40 years of his life devoted to bringing the best athletic coverage to his NBC Sports fans.
The 66-year-old made sure that his exit would be seamless, quiet, and without drama. “It’s all settled quietly and happily for all concerned,” Costas told sources.
While he’s still quite young, many were left wondering just what he would do with his newfound free time. It appears as though he has already got that figured out. “If I do anything else, it will be a hybrid of my HBO show and ‘Later,’” he divulged.
According to sources, some fans had already begun to pick up on a hint of change over the recent months.
They had noticed that Costas had been more frequently absent from his prominent roles. “Sometimes you get to a point where it is not a fit anymore,” he stated.
Only time will tell just what the sports legend will be doing to fill his time in the days to come. After devoting 40 years to a job, no one would blame him one bit for taking some months of well-deserved rest and relaxation with his family.
Whatever the future holds for Costas, we do wish him the very best! Thank you for your faithful broadcasting service all these years. You will be missed!
