There may be double trouble entering the royal palace soon. Or as most would say, a double blessing, because rumor has it that the Duchess is pregnant with twins and identical twin girls to be exact. Kate has apparently made it clear that she wants all of her children to “be individuals and allowed to develop their own personalities.”
Already proud parents of Prince George, age four, and Princess Charlotte, two, Kate and William have begun preparing the nursery. Nothing has been confirmed but there is still excitement in the air as The Royal Family has not had multiple births since the 1400s.
"Kate and William are in the process of designing the nurseries now," a palace source told "Life & Style" in early November, also reporting that the rumored twins are identical girls. "The twins will sleep in separate bedrooms but will share a playroom with George and Charlotte. Kate feels that it's important for her eldest two to bond with the newborns."
As Robert Lacey wrote, “Kate could very easily produce twins. William's uncle Charles Spencer has identical twin daughters; his grandfather Lord Fermoy was an identical twin; on Kate's side her paternal grandmother had a twin sister (Peter Middleton, Kate's grandfather, rather charmingly married one twin while his brother married the other) and Kate's father Michael had twin Middleton great-aunts.”
All that is to say, whether they are having one baby or two, we're just excited that the Duke and Duchess are expanding their happy brood. And we can't wait to see the sure-to-be-adorable family pics. It won't be long until April gets here and we can find out for sure!
