Buddy is a gorgeous little Golden Retriever/Border Collie mix who lives in Canada with his adoring family! Buddy enjoys racing along trails on hikes, running fearlessly among the trees and boulders as he chases scents in the wind. At the end of the day, though, there’s nothing he loves more than curling up with his momma to take a nap on the couch.

Buddy is living an amazing life nowadays but, sadly, it wasn’t always so. Buddy’s beloved family isn’t his first home, but it will be his last if his momma has anything to say about it! In 2015, Buddy made a horrible mistake that cost him his home and the only life he'd known.

Buddy was wandering along one of the trails on a walk with his family when they came across a porcupine. The curious pup approached the porcupine without fear, and it ended horribly for him. His face was full of quills, and he was in awful pain by the time his owners got him to the veterinarian.

When his owners heard how much it would cost to remove the quills from him, they were completely shocked. They could not afford to get him the care, and they refused to put it on their credit cards. They surrendered him, leaving their beloved companion behind because of nothing more than money.

It was lucky for Buddy, that Ann and Pete’s Rescue in Aurora, Ontario stepped in to save him and pay for his surgery. It didn’t take long before he was all patched up and ready for his new home. When he was placed for adoption, it was no time before he was going home with his dear momma who, to this day, spoils him terribly.

When Buddy arrived at his home, he was underweight, shy, and nervous because of the sudden change his life took. With her gentle patience, his new momma won his trust and helped him gain the weight he’d lost. He quickly realized he could depend on her, and they’ve been best friends ever since. He now spends his days playing with his best friend, a Golden Retriever named Harley, and swimming in the local ravine!
