When the Royal Family gathered on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for the second time in barely more than a month, two popular family members were noticeably absent. But now it turns out that the duo was, indeed, enjoying the spectacle - but from a different location. And now that the photos have come out, fans are more than thrilled.
Tuesday, July tenth, Britain celebrated the 100th anniversary of the formation of the Royal Air Force and they pulled out all the stops in making the occasion more than memorable.
There were parades, fly-pasts, and best of all an appearance by the Queen and her next-of-kin on the balcony of the Palace.
The last time we saw the clan gathered there was on June ninth for the annual Trooping the Color which also celebrated the Queen’s 92nd birthday. There we chuckled at the playful antics of the royal children in attendance, especially Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Now, when the RAF event came and went without our delighting in the sight of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridges two older children, we felt a little let-down. Then, what do you know, an adorable photo emerges in which we can see the two mini-royals viewing the proceedings from a familiar spot - the window of the palace.
There, in the presence of Nanny Maria, the pair look out the window to take in all the splendor of the historic celebration. They don’t miss the dramatic fly-by which included jets flying in formation of the number “100” - a spectacular display!
Daddy William and Uncle Harry were decked out in their military finest, proudly displaying the full finery from their time serving in the RAF.
But it’s unlikely either of the senior members of their kids’ family caught sight of the shenanigans going on in the Palace window: George, looking awestruck at the ceremony, and Princess Charlotte reprising her now-classic move - sticking out her tongue at what was going on on the other side of the window.
Even if we didn’t get to see the adorable royal tots at their parents’ side for this big day - likely due to the intense loudness of the jets passing overhead - we were happy that someone captured at least one snap of the jolly duo who are always good for a giggle or two!
