Simon, after handing the fox to Lucy, quickly ran to get some tools that were able to cut through the can. Lucy held the baby fox and Simon, very carefully, cut through the outer edge of the can. The fox was terrified and squirmed around but the couple was making progress. Finally, Simon had cut away enough of the can and began to gently pull the can off.
The fox began to squirm with excitement and, all at once, the can was off his head and the fox was free. The fox looked around in surprise at his rescuers. The couple took special care to look the fox over to make sure he was not hurt. Without a scratch on him, Simon and Lucy put the fox in the animal carrier so they could transport him back to his home.
The couple that had called Simon, pointed in the direction that they had found the fox and Simon set off in that direction. Once he was near the woods, Simon set the carrier down and opened it. The fox trotted out of the carrier and headed towards the woods. Simon and Lucy trusted him to find his way home and the fox would never forget the kind couple that set him free from his ridiculous prison. Watch the video below to see the rescue.
