One of television’s most beloved names has recently announced some devastating details concerning his health and he’s needing your urgent prayers.
David Milch is the brilliant writer and producer of numerous high-profile hit television shows. Two of his biggest to date are NYPD Blue and Deadwood.
The 74-year-old recently spilled the beans that he had been tragically diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. Sources state that long before he had an official diagnosis, he already had suspicions that something wasn’t right.
They even go on to say that his family members also had picked up on his differences, noting that his behavior was starting to shift in a peculiar way. “[I had] imperfect recall and tardy recall and short temper. I became more and more of an acquired taste,” he told sources.
He also stated: “[I noticed] a generalized incertitude and growing incapacity when it came to writing scripts.”
He had his worst fears confirmed last year when he finally chose to go in and have tests run. “As best I understand it, which is minimally, I have a deterioration in the organization of my brain. And it’s progressive. And in some ways, discouraging...in more than some ways; in every way I can think of,” he told.
He went on to state that he believed his father also suffered from the devastating disease as well, though his case went undiagnosed. “That was a while ago, and the diagnosis was not as sophisticated or specific, but in retrospect, he exhibited all the symptoms of this illness.”
This is certainly news that no one ever wants to hear concerning their health. Please keep David Milch and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they learn how to navigate life amid this wretched disease.
