On July 25th, 25-year-old singer and actress, Demi Lavoto, was rushed to the hospital for an apparent drug overdose.

First responders were called to her Hollywood Hills home when they found the superstar unconscious. Surrounded by “friends,” Demi was issued Narcan- a drug used to treat narcotic overdoses.

After being rushed to the hospital, Demi was continually treated for a narcotic overdose. Many news outlets reported that Demi had suffered from a heroin overdose, however, a representative later revealed that was false.

Demi has suffered from addiction and mental illness for years. In 2012, she began her sober journey with a full team who was dedicated to her sobriety. After more than six years of sobriety and a very open relationship with her fans, Demi revealed that she had relapsed.

Suffering from bipolar, body dysmorphia, anorexia, and addiction, Demi found herself frustrated with her relapse. After budding heads with her sober team and management, Demi cut them from her life entirely and followed back down the destructive path of addiction.

On July 25th, her “friends” revealed that they had Narcan on hand because they had expected Demi to overdose; given her recent relapse and anger issues, it was clear that she was on a path to destruction.
