Ahh, Vicks Vapor Rub. A classic remedy for congested noses, VVR is actually one of the most versatile over-the-counter products available. It’s potent scent and the household name has made it well-recommended for practically everything!

Here are 5 of the most shocking uses for Vicks Vapor Rub!

1- Headaches. More than likely, you’ve had a headache coming out of nowhere and completely through off your groove. You’ve taken Tylenol, Advil, and Excedrin, but they just can’t make it go away… You need to try Vicks!

Vicks works wonders on sinus headaches! Just by inhaling it, your nasal passageways will be cleared almost immediately! Just take a sniff or dip your finger in there and add some to your nose. You can also add some Vicks to your temples! By gently massaging the menthol-scented gel on your temples, the pressure will almost immediately release from your head.

2- Finger and Toenail Fungus. The ingredients in Vicks are anti-fungal and if you rub them on your nails (fingers and toes), then you’ll avoid the change of having any kind of fungus grow. All you need to do is rub it on your nails and the Vicks will take care of it from there. If you don’t like the feeling of gel on your fingers and hands, then simply put the Vicks on before you go to sleep and wear some gloves or socks.

3- Nausea. Vicks Vapor Rub is a miracle worker when it comes to nausea! Whether you’ve got vertigo, food poisoning, or you're pregnant, Vicks will alleviate nausea in seconds. The minty smell can help halt nausea very quickly!

4-Bruises. Bruises are never pretty and they’re never fun. As you age, bruises seem to only appear easier and easier. Camphor and menthol, two components in VVR, contain active ingredients assist with circulation. Rub a bit of the ointment directly on top of your bruise and within minutes, it will look visibly smaller.

5- Burns. Alright, this one actually surprised me! If you get a burn, that last thing that you’d consider is something with menthol as an ingredient. However, Vicks actually is quite soothing to burns! The ingredient known as Camphor is actually used to soothe and heal minor burns.
