There are many reasons that dogs are called man's best friend. Dogs are able to read our emotions in such a way that there are times you would swear they were human. Another beautiful thing about dogs is that they make lasting bonds with their owners that are seemingly unbreakable, no matter how much time goes by. When the dog in this story saw his owner for the first time in months, he did not look the same whatsoever. Luckily, the bond they shared was stronger than anyone realized.
One day, a man named Shane came home from the hospital. Shane had been in the hospital for over five months. Due to complications, Shane had lost over 50 pounds. Once Shane was healthy enough to go home, the first thing he wanted to do was see his doggie best friend, Willie. When Shane sat down in the back yard, however, Willie refused to approach him. Because of Shane's weight loss, Willie did not recognize him at all. The dog barked and paced back and forth, trying to figure out who the strange man was. Shane waited patiently and soon Willie came over for a closer look.
Willie looked hard at the man that claimed to be his owner. It sounded like Shane and kind of looked like Shane but the dog could not be sure. Then Willie got close enough to smell the stranger and, all at once, the dog realized that the man was indeed his long lost best friend. Willie leaped into Shane's lap and covered him with kisses. The dog was so excited that he could not contain himself and Shane was so happy to finally have his best friend by his side once again! Watch the video below to see the adorable reunion.
