If you've found yourself on the hunt for a quick and easy garden project, this is for you. Instead of automatically tossing out some of your old trash, set the "good stuff" aside for a fun DIY! At one point or another, we all have those cumbersome juice containers in our refrigerator. After what seems like an eternity, we finally finish it off and mindlessly toss the empty jug into the trash. Did you know that this seemingly useless piece of waste is an ideal item for creating a fun planter?

To make one of your own, all you'll need is a juice jug, a box cutter, paint, potting soil, and a plant of your choosing. You'll start by ensuring that the jug is thoroughly cleaned. Take your box cutter or similar cutting utensil and cut off the top portion of the jug. If you would like, take a bit of sandpaper and smooth out any rough edges.

Grab your paint and decorate the jug however you'd like! Feel free to give it a holiday theme or any design that matches your exterior decor. Once it's dry, fill the jug with potting soil and your plant. That's it! In less than 15 minutes, you can have an adorable planter using something that, otherwise, would have ended up in the landfill. It's a DIY win-win!
